My story

CENSUS DEADLINE 3PM 02/23/25Name: HermanAnimal ID: A 860120Age: 5 yearsWeight: 50 lbs. About: For those familiar with the Enneagram personality typing system, we think Herman may be an Enneagram 5 -The Investigator. These personality types want to understand how the world works, whether it is the cosmos, the microscopic world, the animal, vegetable, or mineral kingdoms—or the inner world of their imaginations. They are always searching, asking questions, and delving into things in depth. We see these traits in Herman, who is a calm, contemplative, curious, thoughtful pup who loves to take in the world and explore.Herman spent some time in the clinic, as he came into the shelter with wounds and he quickly became a clinic volunteer favorite! One of his buddies said, “He is a favorite of mine and I always stop by to say hi to him in the kennels. While he was in the clinic, a fire alarm went off and we were removed from the building. Herman was the one I chose to come on the walk with me to the desert away from the building. Herman is a strong boy but it is easy to get his attention from pulling. He is extremely human oriented and loves to meet new people. Herman was a nice fire drill partner because he and I just sunbathed and sat in the dirt together surrounded by dogs and people and he really didn`t care about them much. Herman is lovely and a definite fave of mine.”Another volunteer recently shared, “Herman met me at the kennel door excited to start his walk. He was a little interested in other dogs, but much more interested in sniffing the entire world. He settled down and was a nice walker. He was very affectionate and loved body rubs. He knew his “sit” command and his “down” command. I cannot overemphasize how interested in the world this dog is. He’s a strong sniffer, and a pleasant overall guy.”Shelter staff also love this boy, sharing, “Once Herman came out to the play yard he quickly relaxed as he adjusted to his surroundings. Herman seemed to enjoy exploring the yard at his own pace, taking in everything around him. He was very people-oriented, seeking attention and affection from the handlers without being overly demanding. Overall, Herman was a calm and easygoing boy, content to go about his day in a laid-back manner. His gentle nature and willingness to connect with people made him a pleasant companion.”Herman would like to meet any potential furry roommates before heading home to ensure a
