My story

* Doug is such a sweet boy! If you're looking for a large dog to spend your time with, Doug might be the perfect match for you! He's fantastic with the other dogs he meets too. Doug has many friends at the shelter (both human and canine). *He loves playtime outside (with other dogs or humans) but is equal amounts couch potato too. *DOUGLAS does so many adorable things. He gives hugs and kisses all day long. But first thing in the morning, when he's so excited for his breakfast, he still takes a second to give the volunteers who feed him a kiss first. *And as though that's not enough... DOUGLAS was perfectly potty trained from the day we met him. *Doug is part American Pit Bull Terrier, Mastiff, Rottweiler and Boxer (according to a DNA test one of Douglas's friends provided for him). But he is also part American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bulldog, Cane Corso, Dogue de Bordeaux and Bulldog! *Video of him can be seen on our Facebook page here and here. *He's estimated to be about 5 years old and was picked up as a stray with an awful ear infection. Thanks to Pound Pals Downriver, his ears were treated and he seems a lot more comfortable now! As his ear infection was so advanced by the time we met him, this may be something his new pet parent will have to make sure gets checked at his yearly health exams. HERE'S HOW TO MEET AND ADOPT: !. Go to our website at wacshelter.com. 2. Click on the Apply To Adopt button to submit an online adoption application. Or use this link: https://form.jotform.com/30514070168143 NOTE: You will get an email confirmation that we have received your application. If you do not see this email appear upon submission, please check your "spam" folder. 3. Your application will be processed and a volunteer will call or email with any questions. NOTE: If any questions are left unanswered or incomplete, the application cannot be processed. A completely filled out application will take 1-3 days to process! 4. We will set up a time with you to meet the animal you've applied to adopt! He is neutered, heartworm tested and vaccinated. *ADOPTION FEE: $150 (cash only) includes spay/neuter, distemper vaccine, heartworm test, and rabies vaccine.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt DOUGLAS, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
