My story

Apache was surrendered by his owner due to no fault of his own. Housing restrictions is often a reason an owner must make a hard choice and give up their pet. We do have more info on this handsome 6 year old big boy than our typical strays. His former owner says: `Apache is house broken. Would prefer someone who won`t need to leave him for 9+ hours most days.Knows Sit, shake, and come. He is treat motivated which is great for training, and takes the treats gently. Loves tug toys and plushies. He is very playful. Slept in kennel or floor, and wasn`t allowed on the furniture, Apache has jumped a fence before. He lived with children, teens and adults, as well as another dog. Apache didn`t do well with small animals and might not be a good fit for a home with cats or other small pets.`Apache was living in a foster home. His foster said that Apache is a soft and loving dog who doesn’t realize how big he is. He is very high energy and loves to play tug of war. During walks he is curious and any and every scent possible. Lastly, Apache is house trained and lets you know when he needs to go to the bathroom. At night sleeps in his crate or in the foster`s bed.Apache can jump when he is excited, and might do better in a home with older kids who can join in this big boy`s fun without getting knocked over. He needs to meet all family members, including potential fur siblings before going home.Apache is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to be in a loving home! His ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
