My story

Meet Janis Joplin–A Gentle Soul with a Rock Star Name I may come off a little shy at first. With a little time and patience though, you’ll discover a loyal, loving, best friend for life. Once we’re connected, I’ll be your shadow–always nearby with a wagging tail and a heart full of love. Here’s a little more about me: I love car rides and behave like a champ on the road. Leashed walks are my jam, slow strolls and sniff breaks included. I know many things, such as how to sit, drop, and down. I also know how to speak, bang (play dead!)--and I’m always up for learning more. Peanut butter is my absolute favorite treat. My DNA says I’m mostly an American Staffordshire Terrier, with some German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mixed in; my friends at Austin Pets Alive! say I’m 100% wonderful. I was born in care at APA! and adopted as a puppy. I spent six happy years in a loving home until life changed for my person, and I came back to the shelter through no fault of my own. Now, I am ready for a fresh start with someone who sees me for the loving, devoted girl I am. I’ve lived with cats before, and while I’m not a dog park kind of gal, I could do well with the right dog buddy in a calm home. Honestly, I dream of thriving in a patient, loving environment where I can feel safe and understood. If you are looking for a loyal companion who will love you wholeheartedly, let’s meet.
