My story

Please contact Perry Meade (perrym@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Happy pup looking for cuddles! DONNIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Donnie and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (06/29) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, (6100 - A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!     Name:  Donnie            Best Guess for Breed: Terrier/Lab      Best Guess for Age:   7 months as of June 2025            SEX:  Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  51.6 lbs as of 6/1/25   Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Donnie is Looking For: His forever family! This happy, enthusiastic pup has all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and exploring the world - he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please. But you know what he wants most of all? To know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved for all his days. He promises adoring gazes (LOOK at that face!) and loyal companionship in return. What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Donnie is an amazing puppy! He is playful like any puppy but settles down much more than the average puppy his age.  He is just a chill boy who loves to snuggle for hours.  He has gotten along with every dog he has met. He LOVES to play but won’t pester another dog who isn’t into it, showing a lot of sense for his age. He has lived with a cat peacefully.  He is doing great with his potty training and is very eager to please. My teen daughter taught him to sit in about one minute!   Like most puppies, he needs a little more practice walking on a leash but is learning very quickly. He may bark in a crate very, very  briefly but settles down in about two minutes.  He is just a sweet and EASY puppy.  Donnie is a such a great pup - he has energy and verve, but he also is just so adoring and loving - wants to cuddle and put his head on your lap for TV night. He is super trainable and eager to learn whatever you want to teach him. I know there is a great family out there for him! Even though he's still growing, he still curls up like a puppy to nap. He loves his crate, too and likes to sleep there, or take himself in just to chill out sometimes.  Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       . BE A FOSTER!!! Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
