ABOUT SANDY Sandy is an elegant 10-year-old buff lady! This gorgeous girl came to HAP when her owner had to enter a nursing home and could no longer take Sandy with her. Understandably, leaving the only home she knew and her person was a big change for her. As she settled in, we learned that this older gal is accustomed to being treated like royalty! In true queen fashion, Sandy likes to do things her way and doesn’t appreciate being told what to do. While she’ll voice her complaints, Sandy is also very affectionate, purring loudly and leaning in for scratches. She enjoys sitting with her human friends and getting pets but does not like being picked up or held. Rest assured, though, she is forgiving if you have a tasty treat to offer. More often than not, you can find her lounging on a bed by the window, surveying her kingdom! *Sandy is used to being the queen of the castle and would do best in a home without other cats, dogs, or young children. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
