KNOWN WITH DOGS: Elf has a big intro style that may be overwhelming to other dogs and can play hard. KNOWN WITH CATS: Elf interacted with a cat at the Adoption Center and seemed unsure but respectful. KNOWN WITH KIDS: We are not sure how Elf is with kids, though Elf can be jumpy when excited. KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit, Default Sit, Down, Touch, Stay, working on Place. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Elf returns to his crate nicely and settles, though he can get FOMO when there are exciting things happening outside. KNOWN LIKES: Cuddling, toys, treats, fetch. KNOWN DISLIKES: None currently known. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Elf came from one of our rural shelter partners. He is a very smart boy with a drive to work and would love a family who is going to help him stay busy with activities like agility, scentwork, or other trainings; he also finds puzzle toys and games to be fun. Like his namesake, he loves the snow, and he is a great hiking buddy. He has perfected so many cues since coming to Homeward Trails and gets so excited to play with toys. Elf can't wait to make all his holiday (and rest of the year) dreams come true by joining your family! Elf was neutered during his stay at Homeward Trails.
