FIV+DOB: 2/28/2021  Snowball may look a little rough around the edges, but don’t let his appearance fool you—this gentle boy has a heart of gold. While he may be shy at first, it doesn’t take long for him to warm up and show his loving, affectionate side. Snowball adores head scratches, belly rubs, and is an expert biscuit maker! His loud, contented purrs will fill your home with joy and warmth. Snowball is also a clean, polite housemate who gets along well with dogs, kids, and even enjoys playing in water! He’s the perfect blend of sweet and quirky, ready to bring his big purrs and gentle love to a forever home. As an FIV-positive cat, Snowball can live a normal, happy life with proper care. He’ll need attentive monitoring for signs of infection, but otherwise, he’s just like any other kitty—a loyal companion who’s eager to share his love. Just ask an open hours volunteer about him!  Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection.  FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered.
