My story

Athena is a 1-year-old, 52-pound beauty with a heart full of love! She was found abandoned in the woods, pregnant and in need of help, and ended up in animal control just days after giving birth. Despite the difficult start, Athena proved to be an incredible momma, and we couldn’t leave her behind. Now, she’s ready to find her forever home, and she’s a joy to be around! Athena thrives on attention and affection, as it’s clear she wasn’t treated with love in the past. She’s now craving all the love she can get and can’t get close enough to her people. This sweet, easygoing girl is one of the most loving dogs we’ve rescued in a long time, and the lucky family who adopts her will be beyond fortunate to have her!
