My story

Hi - I’m Carlos - and im hoping you’ll give me a chance to show you how sweet I am and how much I deserve a forever home . I’ve been let down multiple times in my short life but I promise , if you give me a chance and have some patience for me to acclimate to a new place with new people again, I’ll be a good boy! You see - I was found wandering outside all alone In the Bronx . I was rescued , neutered , and then kept by the lady who rescued me . But sadly - she kept me in a cage more than half the time because her cat didn’t like me! I gained  a  lot of weight from cheap dry food and little play or exercise weighing 20 pounds! Oh my! Eventually I was able to go to a foster home where I have been the only cat and was given the TLC i desperately needed. It took me quite a while to adjust to freedom and being able to relax and look out the window whenever I wanted. I was put on a diet, fed more wet food and weight loss dry  food! I am now down to 15 pounds and I feel so much better , and can even groom myself properly.  I love to play so much now , foster parents really have helped me learn how to play. Wand toys, laser pointers,  catnip , and chirping toys are my favorite . Sometimes though , I don’t know how to ask , and I might run and tap you to say “playtime “ sometimes , I might accidentally scratch you and I feel really bad .. in an effort to try and teach me better manners , the humans put me on some medicine called “Prozac “ but it’s a VERY low dose , I eat it in my food every morning and , it’s really helped me to relax and understand boundaries I never leaned before! Eventually - I hope I don’t have to be on it anymore , but for now it’s helpful . I would really like to have a new foster home that is home more and can continue my progress - or an understanding patient home that sees how special and cute I am!  I am neutered , negative for FIV and FELV , up to date on my vaccines and micro chipped.  To apply to adopt or foster me (Carlos!) email nycatcoal@yahoo.com or call Joan at  (718) 671-1695January 6, 2025, 10:24 am
