My story

9-month old Howie is the platonic ideal of a cat. If you close your eyes and imagine a cat - a perfect brown tabby, a little aloof at first, cuddly lap cat once you've gained his trust, winding around your ankles when he's excited that you're home, always in your business and an expert toy hunter, you'll have Mr. Howie.  Howie needs a bit of time to get to know his people before he warms up and greets them with a purr. Once he settles in, he becomes a cuddly lap cat. Howie will thrive in a quieter home where he could relax and unwind at his own pace. Once Howie knows that you’re a safe person, though, he has the deepest loud purr and will greet you for gentle headbutts and pets. He loves to wind around your ankles and roll around on your feet. Howie is a goofy guy that loves to chase toes under the blanket and goes absolutely nuts for wand toys - especially the ones with feathers. Once he's caught it, he will trot around proudly with his catch. Howie has been fostered in homes with other adult cats, dogs of all sizes, and kids. He is respectful of other cats space and would be fine with friendly other cats in the home. While Howie has been fostered in a home with children and dogs, he would be happiest in a home without either, though teens and disinterested dogs would probablybe fine.  Howie is bonded to his sister Sofia and they must be adopted together. These two love to wrestle and play with each other and have a sweet connection. All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with their initial age-appropriate vaccinations. Young bonded cats have an adoption fee of $262.50. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life. ##2190902##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Howie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
