Hi! My name is Paradise and I am from Missouri. **Meet Paradise!** Paradise is a beautiful 10-year-old Pomeranian with a heart as big as her fluffy coat. While she’s still learning to trust the world around her, her curiosity about human contact shines through her initial fear. Paradise may not be ready for cuddles just yet, but she’s taking small, brave steps every day. Paradise came into rescue as a very fearful dog, but she’s starting to show glimpses of her sweet personality. She watches humans with cautious interest, and with time, patience, and love, she’s sure to grow more confident. Paradise needs a calm, quiet home where she can continue to learn at her own pace. She does well with other dogs and would benefit from having a gentle, well-adjusted canine friend to help her feel more secure. A resident dog can show her the ropes and help her navigate this big, scary world. Paradise’s perfect home will be one with compassionate adopters who are experienced with shy or fearful dogs. She’ll need a safe environment, a lot of patience, and someone who will celebrate every small victory with her. Are you ready to give Paradise the forever home she deserves? Watching her bloom will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. From the Vet: Paradise is SO ready to find her forever home! She was in rescue for a while, but then the BB Vet Team diagnosed her with mild constriction of her pupils and slow heart rate caused by high vagal tone. We wanted to take a look at this further so she was scheduled for an Atropine response test. This made sure there was nothing wrong with his heart, and good news is that his heart is doing well! The TBB vet consulted with an internal medicine specialist and the most likely cause for his symptoms was mild or early hypothyroidism. It is recommended that Paradise get annual blood work performed to monitor thyroid and other organ function similar to any other senior dog! The other medical finding was that Paradise needs a bilateral MPL (medial patellar luxation) repair surgery. This surgery is scheduled for Thursday May 15th. Paradise can still go to her forever home and as long as her new family can agree to bring her to that appointment. In her adoption contract TBB will agree to cover May 15th surgery + 1 recheck and 1 round of medications as deemed medically necessary by the BB Vet Team. We hope her forever family is waiting just around the corner!
