My story

Poor, young Dolly has found herself in a pickle! Her mommy moved away and couldn't take her along. The good news is, instead of dumping her in the woods or taking her to a kill-shelter, Dolly's mommy contacted SPCHS and asked for help -- of course, we said "yes"! Dolly just arrived in her foster home a couple of days ago, so we don't know much about her personality yet, and will update here as soon as we know more. She's not been spayed yet, but will be soon, and we are working on getting her vet records to find out when her shots are due. We'll also make sure she is tested for heart worms and tick-borne diseases (and treated if positive) prior to adoption. Since we don't know much about this girl yet, here's what we can tell you about this breed: A one-year-old Standard Poodle will typically exhibit traits like high intelligence, a friendly and playful personality, a strong desire to please, high energy levels, a need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, and is usually considered highly trainable due to their eagerness to learn; they may still be somewhat exuberant and require continued socialization to fully mature in their temperament. Poodles also require regular grooming!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dolly S., please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
