My story

Meet Maximus, a five year old Lab mix weighing around 60 pounds.Maximus` story is quite sad. Animal control was called to pick him up after his owners moved and the landlord called them. He was left tied up next to the house with no shelter and hardly any room to move The area around him was covered in feces and urine and so was he, we can`t imagine why someone would do that to him. When he came to us we immediately gave him a bath and noticed some sores, probably due to the filth he was forced to sit in. He likes treats but seems like no one really worked with him so he is still learning his manners but responds well to correction. He can be a bit mouthy and may do best in a home with no young kids for now but with a bit of training that could definitely change. Speaking of training, we had a local trainer meet him and she wants to help him put his best paw forward so she is offering two free training sessions to his adopter! Maximus walks well on his leash and is so much fun. He deserves only the best home after what he has been through and we hope to find it for him. This pet is available for adoption on 12/20/2024 at 4:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.Did you know YHS offers a `Foster to Adopt` program??It`s a fun way to make sure you and your potential new pet are the perfect match-like a sleepover, but with extra cuddles!
