My story

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.I am looking for a home with a patient person.Winky tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.A volunteer writes: Winky was left in a crate at a construction site, so we can't tell you much about who he was before coming to us, but we know he's looking for a second chance to show his best self. Since coming to the Care Center, Winky has told us just a little and has asked for even less. Though shelter life hasn't really been his style, he's become quite the picture of progress! Winky's known to favor creative napping positions that leave us scratching our heads, but I was excited to see him lounging on his condo ledge. Winky's happy for treats and will accept pets, but he's really all about playtime. Excitedly waving his paws, Winky has me convinced that the pipe cleaner feather is the most fun one can have. Whether he's in his cubby and poking his paws out or hopping around the front of his condo, Winky is energetically hopeful he'll find someone who wants to play with him forever in his forever home.
