My story

Blind kittens Annie and Frannie—a bonded pair Sister kittens Annie and Frannie came into Guilford County Animal Shelter (NC) in August. They are both blind from birth due to an infection their mother had. Annie had one malformed eye removed at GCAS. These sisters are very affectionate and people-oriented, and are a constant delight to watch as they navigate and interact with their world in intelligent, sweet, and unusual ways! (Frannie likes to try climbing walls; Annie tries her best to drag very large objects under the couch.) They are better predators than many (sighted) adult cats, as their senses of hearing and touch are so finely honed. They love to follow our old dog around and gently pat his tail, and they are better retrievers than labs. They need a home where they are strictly indoors (no risk of escaping outdoors) and where they can give, and receive, lots of love to the humans! Their favorite quote is one by Christian Nestell Bovee (19th century author): "Kindness is a language....which the blind can see." See Annie and Frannie in action on their Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOWmnEqG7MsLjx4dEsQjKUQ For more information on Annie and Frannie, please contact foster mom Bev at bjlevine18@gmail.com. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our adoption page for more information on our adoption process and to complete our adoption application. https://www.julietshouse.org/online-adoption-applications Please note: Our policy is to adopt young kittens with a littermate, in a bonded pair, or to homes with a similar aged kitten. This policy ensures that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development. *All in our program are assumed to be mixed breed as none have had genetic testing. They are designated based on characteristics observed and noted. DOB 6/15/24

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Annie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
