If there was a medal for best sunbather, Mighty Mouse would win gold! He is happy to sit and sleep anywhere the sun is shining. When not in the sun, he loves to hide in under the sheets or somewhere warm. He`s also a perfect lap dog, is affectionate to people, and has a playful side. Overall, he is a low-maintenance dog. He sleeps most of the day and causes no issues when left home alone. Mighty Mouse requires limited exercise, but loves going for walks. He co-exists well with other dogs, as long as they respect his space. Mighty Mouse was transferred to Valley Humane on 12/12 from Stockton Animal Services. He had been found stray. Mighty Mouse is an adult dog (estimated to be between 4 and 7 years old) and weighs 6.3 pounds. He received a dental cleaning on 12/13.Mighty Mouse was diagnosed with grade IV patellar luxation in his left knee and a grade II patellar luxation in his right knee. This condition is common in small and toy breed dogs. In grade I, the patella sometimes moves out of place but returns to its normal position its own. In grade IV, the patella (kneecap) is constantly out of place and does not move back into its normal position. Grades II and III are intermediate in between these. Patellar luxation can cause occasional intermittent to constant lameness. Surgical correction should be considered if the dog shows frequent lameness or pain.Mighty Mouse has possible color dilution alopecia. CDA is primarily caused by genetic factors. Dogs with dilute coat colors possess a recessive gene that results in the dilution of pigments in their coat, skin, and eyes. This genetic alteration can affect the structure and function of the dog`s hair follicles, leading to hair loss and skin problems. Treatment is focused on managing the condition and relieving your dog`s symptoms. Mighty Mouse appears to be comfortable at this time so no treatment is needed.Mighty Mouse was diagnosed with a symphyseal separation. This usually occurs secondary to trauma or dental disease. Since the mandibular symphyseal separation does not appear to be bothering him or hindering his ability to eat, no further treatment will be done at this time.Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption?
