My story

Hershey is a fun-loving, energetic pup with a knack for bringing smiles to everyone he meets. His absolute favorite game is fetch, and he’s a total pro at it! After each successful retrieve, Hershey rushes back to you, leans into your legs, and soaks up as many pets as you’re willing to give. His whole body wiggles with joy, his tail wagging like crazy, as he eagerly waits for the next throw. This young boy is not only playful but also incredibly smart. Hershey is highly treat-motivated and is picking up new tricks with ease—he’s a quick and eager learner who loves showing off his skills. When he’s not chasing after a ball, Hershey delights in playing with his rope toy. Watching him dash across the yard, shaking his head, spinning, and leaping like a bucking bronco is guaranteed to brighten your day. UPDATE - Hershey has been getting a break from the shelter and hanging out with a foster family. He is doing GREAT and loving every minute of it. He adores the family's puppy and does good with their other larger dogs in the home. He also coexists peacefully with the resident cats. His foster reports that he has the most velvet fur she has ever touched and is a playful and loving boy. Hershey’s boundless enthusiasm and love make him the perfect match for an active family ready to share their life with a loyal, fun companion. With his combination of playfulness, intelligence, and affection, Hershey has years of joy and unconditional love to offer. Come meet this charming boy and let him win your heart! GREAT NEWS—Hershey will go home with a free four-week training scholarship! These fun, positive reinforcement classes are all online and super easy to fit into your schedule. It’s a terrific way to build a bond, learn together, and make a smooth transition into your home. If you are interested in learning more about Hershey, please call 812-988-7362 or submit an adoption application at the link below. After the application is received, an adoption counselor can reach out to you directly. https://www.bchumane.org/adoption-application/ *All dogs will be neutered, vaccinated with age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm tested, current on parasite prevention and microchipped.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hershey, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
