My story

Sweet Cedar is a 4-5 years old, 70- pound bundle of love with a playful and affectionate personality. This sweet boy is house-trained, learning basic commands like a pro (he already knows "sit" and "shake" and does the cutest prayer hands!), and gets along well with other dogs. Cedar’s adventurous side shines when he’s out and about. He’s strong on the leash and loves trips to the pet store, where pulling the cart feels like his personal theme park ride. But this lovable pup is equally happy soaking up affection and being your loyal companion. In July 2023, Cedar faced a tough time with an infection in his front paw that left him in pain. Despite a fever and discomfort, this resilient boy has shown his survivor spirit. He’s been recovering under care and is ready to bring his joy and big heart into a forever home. Cedar is a Riverside death row survivor, rescued back in September 2022. He’s been waiting patiently for someone to give him a chance; currently being fostered in Beaverton, Oregon. Cedar is available for adoption, foster-to-adopt. Here’s what his foster mom has to say about him: “Cedar❤️ is a dream dog. Everything you want in a husky without everything  you could do without 🤣 Cedar is a very happy dog. Loves playing with other dogs especially bigger dogs. And won’t instigate much. He is a lazy lounger meaning he’ll just keep to himself and hang around. He LOVES pets and will come smile at you for some. He also LOVES walks. Cedar is also very quiet. He hardly says a peep. But he will bark to alert and guard and when he does boy watch out it sounds fierce. If you’ve wanted a husky but worried they might be a little too loud, cedar is the dog for you! He’s so quiet sometimes I forget he’s in the house. But he’ll always come when he’s called. Oh and he LOVES treats! Cedar would love to be apart of your family. He’s the missing piece you’ve been searching for.🤩” If you’re ready to welcome a sweet, strong, and affectionate pup into your life, Cedar is waiting to meet you!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cedar, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
