My story

It’s no secret that as summer hits and more and more kittens begin to arrive, our adult cats take a little longer to find homes. This phenomenon is even more apparent for our more reserved and nervous cats. Chick is one of those cats. Chick is 9 months old and came in with her 4 other siblings. Also shy, they spent quite a while in one of our socialization foster homes. They loved their time in foster, they played and even spent time near their foster mom. But being adopted from a foster home can be tricky with cats, and especially overwhelming for spicy kittens. A few months ago they returned to the Center. The others in the litter: Piglet, Tadpole and Puppy are doing well, but Chick still only comes down from her perch at night. Chick is great with cats, and loves to keep herself occupied with toys. She is fearful of strangers and prefers to keep to herself. She is still young so if the right home, with the right group of cats (or dogs) there’s still a chance she could come around with patience!
