My story

We are seeing more and more puppy aged dogs. Sam and her brother Cam were left at the shelter without any info. That is where that chapter ends. Sam is shy or at least started out that way. She was overwhelmed by the new loud environment. Sam didn't want anything but our comfort (and we had to insist on giving it). She just wanted to leave to find home. Sam gets more confident daily. She even barks for our attention when passing her kennel. She has made great strides, but the biggest step is yet to happen - finding a great home Came in as a stray on 11/29/24. Abandoned at the shelter Came in with A285446 *Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL *The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. *All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. *Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
