My story

Sweet, beautiful Lance! Lance was so sad and confused when he came to the shelter it took us a couple days to convince him that we mean him no harm. He was hesitant to trust, but our persistence paid off and here we are! Lance knows sit, loves treats, and loves cuddles. We don't know how Lance ended up with those scars on his face, but we are pretty sure he didn't start it! Lance is ready for his second chance. Came in as a stray on 10/29/24. Found near 2000 W. 69th St. Chicago Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
