My story

Coquita may have been named after the Coquito, a traditional Puerto Rican Christmas drink that`s made with coconut milk and rum and whose name translates to `little coconut` in Spanish. Our Coquita is definitely as sweet as a coconut (though at just four years old she doesn’t know much about the rum)!Coquita is back in the shelter after a short stay in a foster home- here’s what we learned:- She loves to cuddle - She loves squeaky toys and playing tug o- war- She was calm and responsive on leash - She is loving, smart, attentive, curious and sweet- She will likely benefit from crate training in her future homeCoquita is also a day trip favorite who has been hiking, explored downtown Tucson, grabbed a bite to eat at In-N-Out, and has made tons of new friends! “Coquita is the sweetest doggy with a huge heart. She loves cuddles and kisses and being in your arms. She`s very curious of the world. She gets excited to play but is overall very calm. Please adopt this sweet soul!”“Coquita is a sweetheart who just wants to be loved! She loves getting pets on her snout, being held and kissed, and playing with toys. She loves to run at the park and didn’t bark at dogs or people she encountered.”“Coquita was the perfect buddy today. She quickly came out her shell after behaving very well during her bath. Sat perfectly during car rides from place to place and hiked like a champ. Her energy grew as she became more comfortable and she wanted to say hello to every person and dog in sight. All in all, she is a fantastic dog.”Coquita also took part in a recent public dog walk:`Coquita did well on leash and enjoyed a “sniffari” in the grass for her treats. She also took treats well from my hand.”“Coquita was the best dog I’ve ever walked. Gentle and didn’t pull at all! She loves treats! If I had space in my home, I’d adopt her in a heartbeat.”Coquita has been playful and social when meeting other dogs in playgroup; she’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Ask to meet Coquita today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt COQUITA, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
