He’s a goofy, loving dude ready to bring all the fun (and cuddles!) into your life! - Love Machine: He’s a loyal, loving guy who was adopted as a pup back in 2020, but his family moved and left him behind. Now he’s seeking his true family. - Silent Superstar: He’s a quiet champ, even around noisy pups! - Doggy Socialite: Apollo gets along great with other dogs, but he’s also totally happy being your one and only. He’s flexible that way! - Family Friendly: Cats? Kids? Been there, done that! Apollo is a pro at family life. - Goofball Extraordinaire: Apollo is a playful, energetic boy with a personality that'll make you smile…And who couldn’t use more smiles in their life, right? :) - Crate King: Apollo is comfortable and super chill in his crate. - Leash Learner: He pulls a bit on walks, but he’s a smart cookie and is ready to learn how to walk with less emphasis! - Health Hustle: Apollo is lyme and ehrlichia positive, but it's easily treated with doxycycline (an inexpensive antibiotic typically given for 28 days). With this disease, a dog may always test positive even after treatment. The adopter is responsible for treatment, including cost. It’s always a good idea to plan to keep your dog on a joint supplement for life to keep them feeling their best! Basically, Apollo is a fantastic dog with a whole LOT of LOVE to give! More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and Saturdays 11am-3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs and families, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 3 days. Note: ODHS adopts within a 350 mile radius of Fredericksburg, Virginia. A $50 out of state fee applies.
