My story

Meet Maroon! He is full of personality. His favorite hobbies include squirrel watching/chasing, chewing tennis balls, and playing tag. He is a young dog with a lot of energy, but when left alone in his foster home, he is calm and naps. Sometimes he can get too excited and will need gentle encouragement to make better choices. Maroon can be a bit nervous of new situations and people but given a chance to trust and settle in, he blossoms into the most loving, playful dog. Maroon is a sensitive guy and would thrive in a home that will continue his positive reinforcement training. He is an eager-to-please pooch that lives for praise and attention. At this time, he needs a home without other dogs as he is uncertain about those interactions. He is learning how to make doggie friends, but his tendency to be too eager has led to quite a learning curve. Maroon is a smart dog who is curious but not mischievious. He loves to work on sitting, shaking and come. He is great at picking up on routines and cues. If he wants to play, he`ll offer you a toy to play with him. When he needs a potty break, he`ll ask to go outside. If you put on your walking shoes, he knows what that means too! Maroon is a great companion and has a lot of love to share. He will do best in a home without young children as his love nudges could be too much for little ones. He loves leaning into chest pets and cheek scratches and often wants to be near his people. He respects boundaries when he learns and understands them. As much as he wants to impress you, he is still learning and will need reminders sometimes. Maroon is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maroon, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
