My story

BootsOh, hello there. Thank you for taking the time to read my interview. I am 6-years, 9-months-old, a typical orange and white Tabby fellow tipping the scales at 12.4 pounds. When I say `typical,` I mean handsome, intelligent, kind-hearted, and charming. At least, that is how most people describe orange cats. I had lived with my owner for five years before she surrendered me to the HSHC. She could not afford the cost of my medical treatments. I am diabetic and must eat Fancy Feasts Classics (which are surprisingly reasonably priced) and take insulin shots. I lived with my family and other cats and kids for five years. Cats, I can get along with just fine. However, I have always been shy and can be easily startled by children, loud noises, fast movements, and changes in the environment. I will run off and hide during these situations. Little kids make too much noise for me, and they create chaos! I am currently living in a foster home with a lovely lady who is not intimidated by giving me shots. I also take a medication that helps control my anxiety and tendency to hide. I am much happier now and improving my courage. When I feel comfortable, I love being held and cuddled. I have enjoyed sleeping with people at night. When I feel secure, I allow myself to be brushed and my nails trimmed with no issues. My foster mom thinks I am a loveable kind of cat. If you agree to give me plenty of time to get settled in your home, build a healthy trust between us, and can afford my medical care, I would love to join your family. 6-2-25
