My story

www.huskyrescueteam.org    If you have additional questions please email info@huskyrescueteam.org Meet Shiloh! This absolute beauty is such a great girl and is so eager to please her humans.   First, let us tell you about her back history: Shiloh and a male Husky were purchased from a breeder around Atlanta. The owner's goal was to breed them and sell the puppies. When Hurricane Helene came, the owner's fence was destroyed. Instead of walking the dogs out on the leash they just let them out the back door. The male Husky ended up in the road and was hit by a vehicle and killed. Since the owner didn't have a male anymore they decided they had no use for the female either. Shiloh was surrendered to the shelter. When the owner made the surrender request, the Animal Control Officer had to pick up Shiloh. You see, the owner had just gotten a new car and didn't want the dog hair in it!! True story! We just can't make this stuff up.   It's so sad what happened to Shiloh's mate, but at least we're able to offer her a better life since she's now with our organization.   Now, let us tell you about Shiloh: Shiloh is near perfect. Except she has one hard and fast rule.... NO SMALL ANIMALS! The prey drive in this girl runs deep. But she's great with dogs her own size, both male and female. She is on the smaller side at just 43lbs. She's still lean and will probably be closer to 50lbs once filled out.   Shiloh is housebroken, crate trained, great with people, doesn't seem to be scared of anything, superstar cuddler, and loves going on adventures. She's very well rounded and would love to join your home! A fenced yard is not required to adopt Shiloh as long as you're committed to exercising her and giving her potty breaks leashed. She should never be off leash! Shiloh is super dog friendly but has a typical rough Husky playstyle. If you have resident dogs, they must be up for playing because she's relentless when playing with others. She also loves to play with humans and will self entertain with toys. When she's trying to get your attention, in addition to the Husky woos she will 'chuckle'. It's adorable, but loud! Shiloh knows some basic commands. She'd be fine in a home with respectful children.   Lastly, Shiloh is an EXPERT smiler :) Her smile is infectious.   She's two years old, spayed, current on her vaccines, microchipped and healthy. She has a beautiful open mask and a bit of wave to her gorgeous coat. She's a long haired Sibe and will require constant brushing to ensure she doesn't mat . Shiloh is is at our rescue center in MD but can be transported for the right home, so don't miss out on putting in your application for this soft, smiley gal. ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply     If you have additional questions please email  info@huskyrescueteam.orgApril 16, 2025, 8:42 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shiloh, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
