My story

MOOKIE is a petite, full grown mixed breed at 40 lbs. and just one year. He has a rough start at the hands of some very cruel humans in NC and has been working hard to overcome that! We have had him in our One Lucky Pup program since he was five months old and to say he has moved mountains is an understatement! Beside being insanely adorable and super handsome, MOOKIE's superpower is being incredibly dog friendly; he has never met a strange dog, they are all just friends he hasn't made yet! IN fact, MOOKIE loves other so much that he finds his confidence to open up and be comfortable with humans best when in the presence of another dog...and the more the merrier! Mookie is a rare dog that we are actually REQUIRING go to a home with at least one other friendly dog. MOOKIE is fostered in Florham Park, NJ and also enjoys playing with his toys, leashed walks, backyard exploring and finding the cutest sleeping positions he can. Bonus: Mookie looks great in PJS! We are looking for an adopter who is dog savvy and experienced as MOOKIE will need a few weeks to adjust to new humans. His fosters have been working alongside us with a professional positive reinforcement, force free CDBC (Certified Dog Behavior Consultant) trainer, and a veterinary behaviorist. His adoption comes with three months of ongoing training support and assistance from our VB so that the transition can be set up for success. We begin all adoptions with an adjustment period and MOOKIE's will be three months as well, to ensure he is in teh right home with the right people. Our organization is unique; we are a smaller nonprofit who focuses on the full needs of each dog in our program to ensure successful adoptions and accurate representations. We are a family and all are welcome to sit at our table. Our community offers an ongoing support platform as well! MOOKIE's best home has a fenced in backyard and is not in a city-type environment. To learn more please complete our adoption application at www.mrbonesandco.org/adopt or send an email to info@mrbonesandco.org with questions. Thank you!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mookie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
