My story

Hi there, Powder here! Let me tell you, being the highlight of winter’s fashion season is hard work, but someone’s gotta do it. My siblings (aka the Winter Weather Litter) and I are named for the season, but let’s be honest—I’m the real snow angel in this story. Mama Crystal says I get my name because I’m soft, irresistible, and leave a little sparkle everywhere I go. But if you ask my brother Avalanche, he’ll say it’s because I tend to powder the yard in zoomies while he trips over his own paws. ;) I’m 6 weeks old, 13 pounds of fluff, and pure puppy magic. Toys are my thing, by the way—give me a ball, a stick, or that mystery sock under the couch, and I’m in my element. I also love the great outdoors. There’s just something about the smell of grass, the chirp of birds, and the feel of the wind in my floofy fur that makes me feel alive. I’m looking for a home where I can keep being my curious, joyful self. Someone who appreciates my puppy antics and has the patience to help me grow into the most majestic companion this side of the North Pole. If you’re ready for a lifetime of love, laughter, and the occasional snowstorm of fur on your couch, then I’m your girl! So, how did a little snow angel like me end up in rescue? Well, grab a cup of hot cocoa and settle in for my origin story! My mama, the legendary Crystal, is a true adventurer. She wandered up to someone’s house, heavily pregnant, looking for a safe place to bring us into the world. She ended up picking the right place because the kind people there looked out for us for a few weeks but soon realized they would need help finding homes for all of us. They reached out to the wonderful folks at PPFT and before we knew it, my siblings and I were cozy and safe in the care of our incredible foster family. I may be a puppy, but I like to think I’m what they call “balanced.” My foster mom says I’m the perfect mix of playful and easygoing—like the dog version of hot cocoa with just the right amount of marshmallows. I love a good romp in the yard with my doggy friends, chasing tails and showing off my snowflake-level zoomie skills. But after I’ve had my fun? It’s nap o’clock! So, let’s talk about my social skills—because if there’s one thing I excel at (besides being adorable), it’s making new friends and trying new things! First off, car rides? I’ve only had a few and I’m a puppy, so there’s a bit of wiggly excitement, but overall, I would say I did well. If you’re planning on cruising to the pet store or grabbing a puppuccino at the local café, I’m totally on board (literally and figuratively). Speaking of cafés, I’d do great joining you on outings(once I am older of course don't think my little ole legs would get us too far right now)! Whether it’s sniffing all the smells at the pet store, charming strangers with my floofy cuteness, or supervising your latte-drinking, I’m up for it. That said, if you’re more of a homebody, that’s cool too. I’m just as happy hanging out in the backyard or snuggling on the couch while we binge-watch your favorite shows. Now, let’s talk about this whole leash thing... or, more accurately, the lack of it. Truth is, I’m such a newbie I haven’t even met a leash yet. I mean, come on—I’m only 6 weeks old! At this stage, it’s way easier to just scoop me up if you need me to go somewhere. And let’s be honest, why wouldn’t you? Carrying me means unlimited access to puppy kisses and snuggles, which is basically a win-win. Plus, I’m like the cutest portable heater you’ll ever find! And finally—meeting new people? Oh, I’m a pro! I get excited (because who wouldn’t want to meet me?), but it’s all sweet, waggy-tailed, puppy joy. My foster says I bring a whole new meaning to the word charm, and honestly, she’s not wrong. When it comes to my future family setup, let’s just say I’m pretty versatile—like a cozy winter sweater that goes with everything. Got other dogs? Awesome! I’d love some furry friends to play with, and I know how to share the fun (and maybe a toy or two). No other dogs? That works, too! I’m perfectly content being the star of the show. I mean, who wouldn’t want me as their one and only fluffy sidekick? Now, about cats... full disclosure, I haven’t been around any, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about a feline roommate. I’ll leave that up to you and maybe a gentle introduction—or at least a cat that doesn’t mind a curious puppy sniffing around. Kids? Oh, absolutely! I’m a puppy, so I come pre-loaded with puppy sweetness and an endless supply of tail wags. Just remember, I’m still learning, so kids who know how to be gentle with a little fluff like me are my kind of people. Let’s be real, I’m a growing puppy, and apartment life just isn’t my vibe. I need space to stretch my little legs, zoom around, and cause some playful chaos. Think of me more as an open-field kind of gal than a studio apartment dweller. You know, somewhere I can frolic like the majestic snowflake I am. Potty training? Well, I’m still working on it, but I’m getting there. I’m a puppy, so my bathroom breaks are a little like a treasure hunt... sometimes I miss the mark. But hey, I’m still learning, and I promise to get better with time. My puppy kennel is my safe space, though—I'm totally cool with hanging out there when I need some quiet time or you’ve got errands to run. As for the couch... well, I’m not exactly jumping up there yet, but with a little help from my human, I’ll gladly join you for snuggles. The important thing is, I love being close to you, so I’m all in for comfy cuddle sessions once I’m up! As for barking, I’m just a little puppy right now, so my barks are more of an “I’m here!” kind of noise. They’ll get bigger and louder as I grow, but right now, I’m more about puppy squeaks than full-blown barks. Alright, before you get too excited, let’s talk about the real deal when it comes to living with a Great Pyrenees mix—because while I’m all sweetness and fluff, I come with a few unique perks (or quirks, depending on your perspective). First up, expect some serious selective hearing. You might think I’m ignoring you when you call my name, but really, I’m just deep in thought, planning my next move...or deciding if I want to come inside. You know, important Pyrenees business. Oh, and did I mention the barking? It’s part of my job as a Great Pyrenees to alert you about absolutely everything. A squirrel in the distance? Bark! A leaf blowing in the wind? Bark! The mail carrier? Bark! If it’s a noise, any noise, I’m on it. But don’t worry—I’m just doing my job, and really, I’m just making sure you’re safe from all the potentially terrifying, imaginary dangers out there. And shedding... oh, the shedding. You’ll find my fur everywhere. Like, literally everywhere. Your couch? Fur. Your clothes? Fur. Your favorite sweater? You guessed it—fur. It’s like I’m giving you a little piece of me, wherever you go. But hey, who doesn’t love a little extra bling? Finally, let’s talk about my amazing ability to claim any spot I deem worthy, especially the softest, comfiest places—like your lap. I might technically be a "large" breed, but trust me, I’m a lap dog at heart. Prepare for a “lovable giant” situation—if you’re sitting down, you’ll probably be sharing that space with me. And don’t even think about getting up unless you want me to give you my best “are you seriously leaving me?” look. So what happens next? Well, I would hope that you would submit an adoption app for me. You can find the app on the rescue's website, message them for it, or find it in the comments below. I am being fostered in ✨Oolagah, OK✨ so if you live outside the area..no worries. Just be prepared to pack for a road trip because this rescue doesn't send us on transports. So, both they and I will be expecting you to come pick me up. And what better way to start the bonding process than with a road trip?! Alright, enough about me for now—I’ve got some belly rubs to catch up on and a sunbeam to nap in. I know you're probably dying to take me home right now. But here’s the thing: I won’t be ready to leave until after Christmas. Yep, I know—total heartbreaker, right? But I promise, it'll be worth the wait! In the meantime, enjoy a holiday season filled with visions of me... and start practicing your puppy snuggles now. 🎄🐾 Love Powder
