Hi! My name is Magnolia and I am from Arkansas. From her foster: Magnolia is a sweet little bundle of affection. In general, she's pretty quiet and calm. She gets a burst of energy here and there and will shake her stuffed animal or take off running down the hall. Otherwise, she's very happy to be sitting wherever you are, in your lap or alongside you. She's a great snuggle buddy at night, and likes to burrow under the covers. She thinks it's fun to use her ramp to get up on the couch and will hang out there if I'm working. She likes to go outside in her cozy coat and walk around to sniff and explore. She has been getting more experience being walked on a leash, but ideally a small little yard for her to romp around suits her needs. She is a bit cautious and shy, and needs a little reassurance when you reach down to pick her up. Most of all, Magnolia wants to be where you are, to snuggle and get scratches and all the love. She's adorable, easy to have around and is excellent company. She is working through separation anxiety and will bark when left unattended, so an ideal home would be one without shared walls with someone who predominantly works from home. Due to Magnolia's small size, she'd do best with older, considerate children who will take care to not trip over her, and to understand that she enjoys her peace & quiet, and is not too interested in playing. She coexisted well with her initial foster’s dog after a slow introduction, but is generally wary of unfamiliar dogs and people. Magnolia has separation anxiety and would do best in a home where her humans work from home / are retired / are around a large majority of the day. She loves her humans and does not like to be left alone. From the Vet: Magnolia has been in rescue while we have taken care of several of her most pressing medical issues. She needed 2 surgeries, 1 being full mouth extractions due to the severe dental disease. She has no problems eating and will live a much happier life without having to put up with her family taking care of her teeth regularly! She also had a knee surgery to repair an MPL (medial luxating patella) on the right side. She is recovering from this surgery well and expect that she can make a good recovery! As she ages, an adopter will want to monitor her eyes, arthritis and any new masses that present with a primary care veterinarian. She just needs a patient and quiet house to live out her life in comfort. If that sounds like you, we know Magnolia will be perfect for the right people!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Magnolia D19016, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
