Mac

My story

Our special boy, Mac, has been with us since he was 5 weeks old after he'd been rescued from a house fire. Mac required immediate hospitalization and supportive care after he had been discovered hiding in the wall of the burning home. Now at almost 2 years old, he is still in need of an adopter. We believe Mac has yet to be adopted because he does have some unique needs, some of which despite our best efforts, we can't seem to fully understand. The most perhaps challenging thing for an adopter to accommodate will be Mac's intense fixation with food. Mac's very loving and very devoted foster mom had the following to say about that:"Mac loves to eat and drink! Therefore, it might be best for him to be the only pet in the house because we do not know if he will be prone to trying to steal his sibling's food. Also, because of his abundant appetite, it will be vital for him to adhere to a feeding schedule because a free-feeding approach would lead to him overeating. He eats both wet and dry, and we have found a slow feeder bowl that works great at getting him to slow down when eating dry."Mac is also prone to urinating more than normal (though he always does so in the litter box), and though he's still quite young, we've had to be a bit more cognizant of his dental health since he does have a touch of gingivitis. Despite everything, however, his foster mom has had nothing but wonderful things to say about Mac. He loves to play and is very entertained by YouTube videos of birds and bunnies. He is very affectionate and will "chirp" to get your attention. We're also told one of his favorite things to do though is listen to classical music and doze off in his favorite pink house after playtime or a good meal.
