My story

Meet Otis, our big sweet 5-year-old pittie mix! He weighs in at around 95lbs. Otis was originally adopted out from us as a puppy but sadly returned for no fault of his own - owners moving away and can't take him with, and the other dog in their home was not the biggest fan of Otis.. Despite this, he's a happy guy who loves attention and treats. He is always greeting us with his tail wagging! Otis seems to love every person he meets. He is a bit anxious around some other dogs. He seems to be most comfortable with dogs who are more reserved like he is.Otis has some mobility issues in his back legs that cause him to limp. Our vet examined him and believes these issues are due to previous leg injuries that were not treated and healed poorly. He has been started on carprofen and gabapentin to help with the pain associated with this, and he will likely need to remain on these meds long-term. Otis has a large lump on the top of his tail near the base. We are having a biopsy of this lump done on 11/12/24 to learn more about what the lump is, and to see what treatment or procedures may need to be done based on the biopsy results.Otis is an incredibly sweet young dog, and we are certain he will bring so much love to his adopters. Help us get this gentle giant back in a home again!
