My story

www.huskyrescueteam.org    If you have additional questions please email info@huskyrescueteam.orgThis is Blue. Blue is 5. Blue is AKC registered. Blue's "owners" paid a lot of money for him. Blue's "owner" then decided he shed too much. Blue was kicked out of the house. Banished to the backyard, Blue got bored. So, Blue escaped. Blue's backyard boredom escape escapades caused Blue's "owner" to surrender him to an overcrowded Georgia shelter. When a shelter has to euthanize for space, a dog who doesn't have a stray hold is the first to be put on that list. Blue made the list. Blue was going to die because he sheds. Blue was going to die because he wanted to be with his people so bad he wouldn't idly wait for their attention from the backyard. Blue was going to die simply for being a Husky, or any dog for that matter. Welp, not on our watch. The stars aligned that gave us room to save a male. Blue is now a H-E-A-R-T dog. We have given him some time to decompress and are getting to know who Blue truly is. His foster family is teaching Blue it's safe to be part of a home and a family and the soft bed is for him to lay in. He's now searching for a furever home who can do the same. Blue will need a family who understands he's been starved for human attention. It's literally all he wants in this world. He would enjoy a home where he can be the only dog so he can get all the pets and all the love. In fact, he loves his people so much that sometimes he tries to crawl inside of or eat their clothes! So a home that doesn't leave laundry all over would be ideal ;) He would tolerate another low key easy going dog in the home but he can get jealous when he's not the one receiving the attention. He also prefers all the food, good treats and toys to himself, although he will share with the humans. A home without young children is probably best for him.   Blue is what we'd consider to be a velco dog. He likes to follow you around, snuggle when you sit down, attentive on walks, woos when he wants something from you, and is a gentle and sweet soul. He's been through a lot and will need a positive home with patience and a kind hand to continue to encourage his inner-Husky to shine.   Blue is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for transport soon. He is neutered and current on his vaccines. Blue is being fostered in TN. His adoption area is CT, NY, NJ, DE, PA, VA, MD, TN, NC, SC, GA. Further exceptions can be made on a case by case basis. Apply at huskyrescueteam.org More about Blue can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1NPnKJdoHG/ But please come back here to adopt.    ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply     If you have additional questions please email  info@huskyrescueteam.orgMay 2, 2025, 4:44 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Blue - ON HOLD - NO MORE APPLICATIONS, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
