ABOUT BRIA Bria is an 8-year-old short and sweet girl! She came to HAP when the other dogs in her home were not getting along with her. Due to that bad experience, she is hoping to be the only pup in a new home! Bria absolutely LOVES people and is quick to melt in your lap, with the biggest smile on her face. She finds friends everywhere she goes and is always super happy to meet new people. Despite her short stature, this girl has leaps when playing and loves to chase after toys by hopping around. When she's not zooming around our fenced fields, you can find her sprawled out enjoying love from our team. In addition to being a total sweetheart, she is also super smart! Bria already knows basic commands, walks well with a harness, and appears house-trained! Bria has also participated in our Doggy Day Out program, here's what some volunteers had to say about her: "What a love bug! We went for a short walk then home to snuggle for a while. She will do just about anything for a head scratch and belly rub! After warming up inside and having some treats, we went to Huxley and Hiro (dog friendly bookshop) where she made friends with the cashier, of course! Then it was off to the Riverfront for a longer walk to finish the morning. Bria hardly stopped wagging her tail all day! She give lots of kisses. She did great in the car and she knows how to sit for a treat. Bria is so easy to love and she will be the immediate best friend of anyone who meets her!" - Julia "She is the sweetest, just a happy go lucky personality during our whole time out. She did make like a gurgling noise a couple times, which just added to her cuteness. We mainly stuck to the woods to avoid other dogs. We also passed a horse/rider and Bria was totally amazed and sat on her own. A lot of kids were at the playground laughing and running around but Bria wasn’t bothered by it. She seemed to like squirrels maybe a little too much. I redirected her attention and she was off exploring again. She walks very well on the leash. Back at the car I tried to give her treats but she sit them out. Tried to give her water but she didn’t want any. Went to Caufiell Estate and took another walk. There were a couple workers outside but Bria was too busy sniffing. Saw a deer that startled both of us but Bria just had a staring contest with it. We ran out of time so we headed back to the shelter. I was petting her through the armrest and she made the gurgling noise again! Cutest doggo ever. Just a love bug. She loves to give licks. She had a hard time keeping her eyes open. But once we got to the shelter she couldn’t wait to get inside to see her friends. I hope she finds her perfect family soon" - Autumn If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bria, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
