My story

Meet Gilbert! This 1-year, 8-month-old, 51-pound charmer is ready to win your heart, just like he’s won everyone else’s. Gilbert traded his old stomping grounds at our old Fulton location for the comforts of cozy evenings watching TV. His favorite? Nature shows—but he’s happy to enjoy whatever’s on if it means spending time with you.Polite and non-reactive, Gilbert is great on a leash and gets along beautifully with other dogs and people he meets. He has lived with kids around the age of 12 and has done well. He’s a calm, steady presence, even around dogs who might be less than thrilled to meet him. He has been non reactive to cats and could do well with slow introductions. Gilbert is non-destructive, entertaining himself while you’re out, so there’s no need for a crate. He’s also a good car companion (though he might need a little encouragement to hop in). This sweet and cuddly boy has a mostly calm demeanor, though he can’t help but get excited to see you! He loves snuggling, climbing into your lap, and even giving hugs. Toys are a big hit, especially his beloved Nylabone. Gilbert is goofy, adaptable, and has that perfect energy level—just the right mix of playful and relaxed. Gilbert’s happy, easygoing nature makes him an “easy button” dog who’s ready to bring joy to his forever family. If you’re looking for a loving, charming companion, Gilbert might just be the perfect fit.
