Meet Jason – A Brilliant, Loving Dog Ready to Shine Jason isn’t just any dog—he’s an incredible, one-of-a-kind companion who’s overflowing with love, heart, and potential. He’s smart, affectionate, and endlessly loyal to the people he bonds with. Everyone who meets Jason sees how special he is—and now we’re looking for the perfect foster or forever home to help him truly thrive. Although we don’t know exactly what Jason’s past looked like, we suspect it wasn’t a good one. He shudders at the sound of a harsh tone, which may be why human praise is his favorite—and most desired—thing in the world. An excited “Good boy!” means everything to him, and he absolutely lights up when he hears it. Treats are nice, too, but for Jason, kindness is the ultimate reward. He lives for human connection. During a recent overnight stay with a volunteer, he fell asleep with his nose nuzzled into the volunteer’s eye. A little awkward? Maybe—but it perfectly captures how deeply this sweet boy loves his people. He stayed snuggled up all night, making sure he was always touching his human. That’s the kind of loving heart Jason has. Jason also has a playful side! He’s always up for a good game of fetch and loves to chase after a ball or toy in the yard. It’s one of his favorite ways to bond and burn off some energy. He adores people of all ages, but he’s hoping to find a calm, low-key home where he can truly relax and feel safe. Because he thrives with structure and a peaceful routine, Jason would do best in a home without other animals and with older kids—ideally 14 and up—who understand what he needs to heal from all that he's been through. Jason needs to be the only animal in the home. We believe this may be linked to his past—he’s missing a piece of his ear, possibly the result of a dog fight. He’s clearly fearful of other dogs and will need a loving, understanding family that honors what he’s endured, while helping him feel secure, safe, and cherished. Jason has been in the shelter since October 2024, and it’s been hard on him. As much as we love him, shelter life is not where he belongs. He’s struggling without a family, simply because he loves people so deeply. This is a dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side, soaking up affection and offering it right back. Thanks to our amazing partnership with Tilly’s Pit Crew, Jason has been receiving training support, and he comes with an entire team rooting for his success. Pam’s Positive Training is offering two free training sessions to help set him up for a smooth transition, and Tilly’s Pit Crew will cover any additional sessions needed to ensure he continues to flourish in his new home. With Jason, you’re not just getting an amazing dog—you’re gaining a support network that believes in him and will walk alongside you. Jason is ready to be someone’s best friend. Could that someone be you? Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 60.2 Age: 3yrs 3mths 0wks
