DON

My story

Don and his brother Sandy were found in the hills as strays at about 3 months of age. A man took them in and raised them until they were about 8 months old when circumstances forced him to give them up. They came to the Sanctuary very wary and shy. Everything is new to them. But they have quickly warmed up to staff, and are learning to walk on a leash. Don is the more assertive of the two, though he is not at all aggressive. Both boys are very food motivated, but eat together....no food or resource guarding. Don is very loving--asking for pets by nuzzling in, or by "giving you the paw." He will be your constant companion, but will need a calm, patient human to show him the world beyond the deep woods in the hills. The staff loves both of these boys.
