Ember

My story

This gray beauty is Ember. She came in with her buddy Stoney, and just like him, she’s a gentle soul. She is a bit shy and has some scars on her thin frame. We are not sure if they were fending for themselves or just didn’t get the best care before coming to us. We are just glad they are in a safe place. Ember just wants to be close to people. She wasn’t too interested in toys or exploring—she was happiest sitting quietly by our side, enjoying some pets and sampling treats Ember is a soft and lovely pup just waiting for a second chance. Came in as a stray on 10/1/24. Found with A282468 near 5800 S. Paulina, Chicago Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
