My story

Selena is a beautiful, sensitive pup who`s still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. When you first meet her, she`ll probably greet you with a few nervous barks and keep her distance—but offer her a treat, and you`ll start to see the love in her eyes. She’s treat-motivated (okay, treat-obsessed!) and that’s been the key to helping her open up. Selena is a cautious girl who startles easily and tends to need some space when she feels unsure. Sudden movements or standing up too quickly can send her scurrying, but she’s making progress every day. With a little patience (and a handful of goodies), she’s perfectly happy to be leashed up, and she tolerates some gentle pets—even if her body language said she wasn’t quite ready to relax just yet.Despite her nerves, Selena shows signs of being a smart cookie. She appears to be potty trained and has done well in a home before after her foster earned her trust. Her former foster tells us she adores car rides, especially watching the world fly by from the window. When she’s feeling safe and settled, she’ll happily curl up next to you on the bed for a cozy snuggle. Selena is looking for a calm, patient home with someone who can help her build confidence at her own pace. She may not run up to you with tail wags and kisses on day one, but with time, consistency, and kindness, this shy girl has so much love to give. Could you be the steady, gentle soul she’s been waiting for?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt SELENA, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
