My story

Meet Biltmore, a sweet 5-year-old hound mix who was rescued from North Carolina after Hurricane Helene in September 2024 and brought to Big Dog Ranch for a second chance at life. Her journey has not been easy, but her heart is full of quiet love just waiting for the right person to share it with. After being adopted and returned due to not getting along with everyone in the home, Biltmore is now looking for a calm, adult-only home where she can feel safe and understood. She has a low energy level and enjoys the simple things—gentle walks, cozy cuddles, soft toys, and peaceful surroundings. Biltmore walks nicely on a leash and is good with other dogs, as long as introductions are slow and she is monitored when sharing space. She would do best with someone who has had prior dog experience and can offer her the patience and reassurance she needs to come out of her shell. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who’s survived the storm—literally and figuratively—Biltmore is ready to find peace, comfort, and love in her forever home.
