My story

VANCE, SOUTH CAROLINA - I AM HELPING THE WOMAN FIND A GREAT HOME FOR CASSIE (3 year old female saint bernard who needs her shots updated and DOES HAVE A SPAY SCAR). Cassie is a great dog and extremely beautiful. Photos do not do her justice. HERE IS A WRITE UP FROM HER: What I know about Cassie: - It is unknown if she does well with cats as me or her previous owners don’t have cats so we don’t know. - For vaccination, I have not taken her to the vet. Her previous owners were trying to get her vet records and I don’t know if they had any luck or not. - I’m not 100% certain if she is fixed or not. I think I found the scar for her spray but not 100% but her body type looks as though she is. - Cassie is fine with kids. - She has gotten along with my dogs, but having 3 little dachshunds, I try to not let them jump all over her to stress her out, but we haven’t had any issues. - Cassie does well with bathes. - Cassie is a little skiddish and unsure around males until she gets to know them. The previous owners told me this but she favored right up to my husband when we went to pick her up. - Cassie is great on a leash. That is how her previous owners took her out to use the bathroom. I have a fenced in yard and she goes in and out without her leash. - I reached out and spoke to her previous owners and they are unable to take her back to their health, age and new health issues. - I believe Cassie will do better meeting a new female then introduced to a male. - When we went to go pick Cassie up, it was just me and husband. Her female owner brought her out and let her potty then came over to us. (They told me before coming that she loves milk bones so I had my pocket full of them). When she came up to us, I let her smell me then gave her a bone and petted her and gave her more bones and after a few minutes, the lady handed me her leash and walked with us to the truck and Cassie jumped on it. - We have a 7 year old Saint that I’ve had since she was 5 weeks old. I have a senior dachshund that’s like 14 that was given to us like 10 years ago. I have 3 sister dachshunds that just turned a year old a couple of weeks ago. - When we got home, I got my son to let my dogs out into the fence yard so we could bring Cassie in and let her check the house before introducing her to them. We let our dogs in, they sniffed each other and that was basically it. No issues. - Cassie needs and deserves all the time and attention she can get to thrive to her full potential. She is very special. She is very loving. She is smart. She is a big girl. She is a big ole ball of pure fluff.Cassie does well on car riders. She appreciates and enjoys a pup cup from Starbucks on her rides. I’m not sure about swimming, as we closed our pool for the summer before she got to give it a try. Cassie loves laying in kitchen watching you cook and waiting on her dinner. Her preferred favorite courses are dry food, covered in Rachael ray canned food, then covered with cooked deboned chicken or beef with a little gravy. Cassie gets this every night. Milk bones are her absolute favorite. She enjoys going outside then coming back in and laying on her couch in front the cool a/c. Belly rubs are an absolute must. She also loves her ears scratched lightly. She is slobbery and fluffy but she is amazing. She doesn’t snore as bad as my other saint. She is a leaner, she loves leaning up on you when standing beside her. She loves to give you high five if you have a milk bone to reward her with. She gets excited for the first few seconds when the vacuum starts but then just fine. Again, we are looking for a forever home. She is free to a loving person. She warms up quick to men esp. if they are kind and have a milkbone for her.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cassie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
