What my friends at ACC say about me:Mixie is not open to interaction at this time and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. Because her previous owner reports she is friendly and outgoing in a home environment, we believe the behavior seen in the care center is shelter-specific and this cat would make a great pet, but is really struggling in the shelter environment. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, home with adopters who are willing to work with a cat who needs time and patience to help her adjust to their new home.A volunteer writes: Mixie wants to know if anyone can help her make sense of the Care Center or better yet, if you can just help her skip through this step all together and bring her home. She knows it's a big ask, but she's been through a lot of big changes recently. Mixie has respectfully declined our treats and toys because even though she's trying to get used to her new normal, it's just been a lot on this gentle hearted kitty. I tried to explain that meeting new people is part of the process. Putting your heart out there is hard and mine really goes out to anyone trying. When you come in to meet Mixie, she might not want to say hi in the traditional sense, but she still hopes you'll give her a chance. Mixie came to us from a home with other cats and while she understands there's something better out there for her, she's not quite sure how to get there so we hope you'll share the opportunity to let her shine. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 5.7 Age: 1yrs 1mths 2wks
