My story

Animal Profile: Guy Ritchie is an estimated 18 mo old 70 lb male German Shepherd mix who was a stray intake to the packed San Bernardino city shelter, where he was kenneled with Clyde the Doberman. Guy Ritchie was friendly with loose body language to all volunteers/staff and had no issues with his kennel mate. He will be joining Dog Gone Seattle and we will share more info once we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Guy Ritchie is such a sweet, affectionate boy! He is a young, energetic Shepherd that loves people.   He is friendly with other dogs, with proper introductions, and is crate and potty trained. Guy is a super smart boy and has mastered most basic commands including sit, stay, place, and crate. He is working on leash manners and does best with a confident handler as he can be excitable especially around other dogs or small critters. He loves to play fetch and rides great in the car. True to his Shepherd breed, Guy is a loyal companion and follows his humans everywhere. He doesn't  wander, get into things, or chew on things that are not his; he really wants to please!  We believe Guy will do best with an active family with a fenced yard, Shepherd experience is a bonus. We are not considering apartments at this time.    Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fees benefit all the animals in our rescue, and may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from the the high kill San Bernardino city shelter and transported via START, arriving to Seattle area foster care 9/20/24. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. Smart and has learned most basic commands including sit, stay, place, crate. Good at thresholds.   As a sheperd  he of course loves exercise and mental games , but in the house  he is low key, can entertain himself, calms easily and rests quietly while you work from home. He's a tremendous companion and follows his humans everywhere, does not wander or get into things does, not chew on anything not his. He has no resource guarding. He wants to please.   Pretty good on leash, Still needs some leash and recall training and though he’s good with dogs after he knows them needs more training around first seeing/meeting dogs.
