My story

Deuce and Boston are beautiful, gold and white Shih Tzu boys who are not yet 2 years old. The owners were a young family with children and they acquired the dogs at 8 weeks old. Although Shih Tzu's only shed minimally (as humans do) and they are generally good dogs for people with allergies, this was unfortunately not the case for this young family. They had to give the dogs up after exhaustive efforts to help their children's allergies without success. They were devastated and eventually turned the dogs over to their groomer hoping she could find them a home. That is where we came in. After being with the groomer for four months and then coming here and these poor two boys have hardly had a chance to get a good grip on what we should be like. They are will behaved but still of course puppies in many ways. They were ready to start a new life and would love a family of their own. They are fully vetted and ready to go. They must be adopted together and will come with their crate, their stroller and other supplies. Deuce and Boston are "mostly potty trained according to their former owners. They were crated at night and when owners were away. Deuce and Boston are coated dogs (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Deuce and Boston's combined adoption fee is $800 They must be adopted together. This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.
