My story

IDGSR Welcomes FOREST into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Hiya! My name is Forest and I'm a beautiful black and tan German Shepherd boy who is 6-7months old. I'm located in Greeneville TN and will be available for transport. Here are some fun facts about me & my ideal home! 1. My brother and I were rescued from an animal cruelty situation and are super happy to be in the safety of IDGSR! 2. We were completely failed by our previous owner and not given any education. I'm a typical energetic goofy young boy! I have a TON of energy and need to learn how to harness it. 3. My paw-fect home would be with a strong mom or dad that’s active and has German Shepherd dog training experience. They must agree to continue my training so I can learn manners and be a paw-fect gentleman. I’ve got tremendous potential cuz I’m smart and athletic. With the right training, I’m going to be an amazing dog. 4. I’m going to need a big fenced yard and/or a very active owner that will help me burn off some of my puppy energy. I have a LOT of it! 4. I’m still young so I can learn to be friendly with just about anything and anyone. But I probably wouldn’t be very gentle with small children at first, so it’d be better for me to stick with older kids (7yrs & up). 5. If you are looking for an active, intelligent, strong, loyal companion with the potential to be the most amazing dog, I’m. your guy! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** ***IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION*** -ALL dogs are fostered in TENNESSEE unless otherwise noted -We do transport dogs to the east coast; a transport fee will apply -All dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, heart-worm testing, monthly preventatives, & are spayed or neutered -Puppies under 6-months of age will require a SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, a portion of the adoption fee will be refunded upon documentation of the spay/neuter -An application must be submitted before scheduling an appointment to meet a dog -Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -Due to the high volume of emails we receive, first priority will be given to those with submitted applications -All rescue work is done by dedicated volunteers, please be respectful of their time -Not able to adopt? Consider FOSTERING one of our wonderful dogs! Adoption Application: https://www.idgsr.org/apply-to-adopt NOTE: Please remain on the application page until you receive notice your application has gone through. Thank you for considering adopting this wonderful dog! Donations help us care for all of the dogs in our program. Any donation is greatly appreciated and can be made here: https://www.idgsr.org/support-us
