My story

Sex: MaleBreed: PitbullEstimated Date of Birth : 05/02/2024As adorable as he is determined this little pittie has a heart as big as his potential. He’s destined for greatness and has the right amount of drive to overcome all that life has thrown his way. Frog (Kermit) stole our hearts with his resilience and happy go lucky vibes and we know with continued rehab and just the right home this little boy will live up to his future greatness. Kermit was rescued from the Kern County Animal Shelter. Found abandoned in Lamont, a very rural area of Kern County, Kermit was likely discarded by his breeder due to his inability to use his back limbs. He has swimmers syndrome. This causes his back legs to splay out so he can’t use them normally. The good news is with continued rehab most swimmers puppies improve significantly and regain use of the affected limbs. We are hopeful that this will be the case for Kermit. Kermit is thriving in foster care and making lots of progress. With dedicated physical therapy, a wheelchair, and careful leg binding, his legs are improving every day. He’s scored a very experienced special needs foster who can provide round-the-clock care, ensuring he gets all the love and attention he needs. Kermit is working towards being adoption ready and you can apply to give this special pup a forever home filled with love and support! If you are interested in adopting a Marley's Mutts please fill out an application at http://marleysmutts.org/adoptionprocess/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kermit the Dog, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
