My story

Summer is almost here and we have the perfect companion for you to enjoy the outdoor months with. Meet Sunna, named for the Norse Goddess of the sun. She has built up quite a following with our volunteer team and is regularly picked for offsite outings. Hear what our volunteers say about her: `She is a champ about posing for the camera.``What I will say about her is that she has a lot of energy and loves outdoor adventures. She has a very sweet disposition. She likes to be close when you sit down (she puts here paws on your lap and gets in your face.``She is ‘pretty’ gentle with treats. She knows a few commands and seems eager to learn.`And this story from one of our running team members: `She seems smart and quick to learn. About halfway along our running route, there’s a gap in a hedge leading to small overlook with just room for a bench. I often stop there, just for a minute or 2, to give the dog a break and also see how affectionate a dog is when not running. The first time I stopped there, I sat on the bench and she just sniffed around the area. 2nd time, I sat and she jumped up on the bench near me, still more interested in the sights and smells. 3rd time, she jumped on the bench and fell into my lap and enjoyed chest rubs and gave me a sloppy kiss. 4th time, as I turned into the area she jumped on the bench and turned to snuggle before I could even sit down. And yesterday, 5th time, she turned into the area on her own. I’m impressed that she’s picking up on these patterns and seems to be looking forward to a little snuggle time with a human.`The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. **HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal`s location.(If you cannot see the animal`s location, please view the pet`s profile through our website: https://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt)From the Dog Kennels/Kennel Group I/Kennel Group Q (in shelter):To meet this d
