My story

Spike`s journey is one of resilience and hope. Found along the side of the Casey Highway back in September, he was brought in by the dog warden in a sad state—overgrown nails, tumors, missing fur, sores, and raw patches on his back legs. His intake notes described him as a dog who had suffered from neglect and mistreatment, undoubtedly abandoned with little to no human care.Fast forward to today, and Spike is a new dog. He’s healthy, shiny, warm, and well-fed, with a renewed sense of energy. But despite his remarkable transformation, Spike still struggles in the kennel. He doesn’t like being confined, and while he doesn’t yet realize how far he’s come, he’s certainly much better off than he was before. The beautiful thing about dogs, though, is that they forgive. And Spike has. Though his past experiences with people likely left him wary of other animals, he has formed trusting relationships with the human friends who have cared for him. While he prefers to be the only pet in the home, Spike (3 years old, 63 pounds) has so much love to give and would thrive as the loyal companion to a family who will cherish him.Spikes adoption fee has been fully sponsored in memory of Shadow and Cooper, Thank You Mike H ??He’s a playful, silly, and affectionate dog who adores his time outdoors and is eager to share his heart with the right people. Spike deserves a family who will help him forget the hardships of his past and give him the chance to experience true love and joy. He’s ready to be your co-pilot, your “man’s best friend,” and the one who’s always there to brighten your day.Dogs don’t ask for a life of suffering—it’s something humans impose upon them. But we can turn Spike’s life around, giving him the future he’s always deserved, filled with warmth, comfort, and the love of a family who will make him feel truly chosen. Will you be the one to change his life forever? If you’d like to meet Spike, please apply here : https://www.cognitoforms.com/gMCZ Photographylshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogsSpikes current photo courtesy of MCZ Photography
