My story

Flower is 53# and 1.5 years old. She is potty trained and crate trained, but expects to get a Kong with peanut butter during crate time! She has worked hard and has learned a bunch of a commands like sit, come, stay, lay, and turn. She used to have a hard time with car rides but after just a few practice session in the driveway she will now lay down or sit in the back seat. She loves other dogs but needs to have close monitoring when learning the other dog’s social cues and body language. Large groups of dogs like at a doggy daycare or dog park are too much for her but she does well with one on one play sessions when the dogs get to know each other. She does very well with cats too! Flower should be in a home with older kids or no kids since kids’ quick movements can make her nervous. Flower has springs in her legs and can easily jump baby gates and has jumped a 4’ fence once so a 6’ fence would be best for her safety. Flower is a smart girl and learns well if you work with her. She would do best in a family home for uch of the day and  with someone who is willing to continue working with her so she can be the best dog she can be. If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $200 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2025, 1:14 pm
