My story

ABOUT ROSIE Meet Rosie, our lovable 8-year-old pittie mix who adores spending time with people! Rosie’s journey hasn’t been easy, as she was abandoned on our property.We were able to locate her owners, who no longer wished to keep her but shared some of her story with us. Rosie was originally rescued from a dog-fighting ring in Pennsylvania. Due to that experience, Rosie cannot live or interact with other animals and must be the only pet in the home. Despite the challenges she’s faced, Rosie is an absolute sweetheart with every person she meets! You’ll often find a staff member or volunteer snuggled up with Rosie in her kennel, as she’s a total cuddle bug. She already knows basic commands, is house-trained, and walks wonderfully on a leash. Rosie is eager to please and is highly food-motivated, making her quick to learn new things. She absolutely loves spending time outdoors, rolling around in the grass, and sprawling out at your feet for belly rubs. After all she has persevered, Rosie’s ready to find a loving family who will give her the quiet, peaceful life she deserves. **Rosie must be the only pet in a home and should not interact with other animals. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
